Let them drink Coke
"The mayor of San Juan, who was so complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump."
It's only the opening fart of this morning's shitter-twitter, but you have to be impressed by the number of lies he can cram into a single sentence. Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz was far from "complimentary," and she does not take orders from "the Democrats." "We are dying, and you are killing us," said the mayor. How nasty. Especially since Trump unerringly put his finger on the problem days ago. "An island surrounded by water. Big water. Ocean water." Which is remarkably astute if you're three years old. Maybe that's why it took him a week of stubborn resistance to waive the Jones Act, so that non-American ships can carry supplies to Puerto Rico from mainland ports. (The Jones Act was waived promptly when Texas and Florida needed help.) A Navy hospital ship is finally on its way, since more than half the territory's hospitals still have no electricity. So what more do they want?
It's not as if this is the only piece of cake on the presidential plate, after all. Those arrogant, ungrateful football players are still kneeling or linking arms to show their disrespect to veterans...and Trump. Rocket Man is still threatening the world...and Trump. The Secretary of Health and Human Services had to quit because he liked to travel in super-luxury; who does he think he is, Trump? Also, he didn't do enough to destroy the Affordable Care Act. They totally had the votes to repeal it, did so, but somebody was in the hospital or something, and it's mostly McCain's fault, he's totally overrated and if he's so smart why did he get brain cancer? And the fake news, reporting that stuff is bad! There was an ugly racist incident at the Air Force Academy, drawing an angry and eloquent response from the commandant so Trump didn't have to waste precious time on it. Or even notice. He's preoccupied with his tax "reform," so badly needed by the rich and by those who are expected to pay an estate tax on their inherited millions. Wrong! And the Justice Department is finally standing up for the oppressed Christians and white nationalists who are being shouted down and prevented from displaying their fetus photos and swastikas on our left-wing campuses. So much work.
Gen. Jeff Buchanan says he doesn't have enough people or equipment to improve conditions in Puerto Rico, but he's only a three-star Army general and those people want everything done for them. Don't they know it's autumn, and you have to start early if you want to get in eighteen holes?
Big water.
Ocean water.
Donnie play now.
