The MAGA with No Name

 MAGA World has a new hero and it doesn't even know who he is.

Jordan Neely was hungry and broke and he said so loudly on the F train, which made some passengers nervous.  One of them decided he was dangerous and scary and not a dancer with Michael Jackson moves and an online following, so he strangled him.  Already this hero has attracted fans of his own, but all they know is that he's a Marine veteran from Queens.   Mention of the homicide (so ruled by the medical examiner) on the SpongeSean Squareface Show last night brought a shout of "Woo!" from a member of Hannity's peanut gallery who presumably was not hustled out by security.  "My heart goes out to him and his family," the host went on, calling it "a tragedy on every level."  This must be the new, compassionate Fox.  Carlson would already have booked the Marine.

The new Rittenhouse remains anonymous because the NYPD have not even arrested him.  How is he supposed to join the CPAC tour, with a bag over his head?  Time for Mr. Semper Fi to come forward and take credit.  Bernhard Goetz did.

"Well, at least they have rhythm," wisecracked Kayleigh McEnany about video of people protesting the city's inaction on Neely's death.  Really?  "Black people have rhythm" jokes?  What year is it?  She'll have to find better material before she guest-hosts the former Tucker Carlson White Power Hour next week.  It's a crucial moment for the network:  Will former viewers return if they get the same tasty racism with fewer misogynist calories?  Or can she provide both, like most of her party's mean-girl woman haters?  I can hardly wait.

Another day, another example of Clarence Thomas's limitless venality.  This one has everything, even Kellyanne Conway.  In 2012 rightwing moneybags Leonard Leo, who picked federal judges for Trump to appoint, told Conway to bill his Judicial Education Project and funnel thousands of dollars to Ginni Thomas for "consulting."  "No mention of Ginni, of course," he stipulated, possibly because the same Project was filing a brief in the biggest voting rights case of the decade, Shelby County v. Holder.  I won't say there was bribery but Leo got the decision he wanted.  "Knowing how disrespectful, malicious and gossipy people can be, I have always tried to protect the privacy of Justice Thomas and Ginni," said Leo.  All of Clarence and Ginni's friends are so solicitous of their privacy.  Mrs. T. graduated from some law school in Nebraska so I'm sure she had expertise nobody else could provide.  Call me disrespectful and malicious.

In conversation with Nigel Farage Trump seized the opportunity to again blame China for covid.  Ron DeSantis is prepared to take the racism a step farther.  He (technically the Florida legislature) has a bill that would make it illegal for members of the Chinese Communist Party to own Florida swampland real estate.  Moreover, Chinese who are "domiciled" in China are similarly banned unless US citizens or permanent residents.  Apparently the CCP are plotting to buy up all the crumbling high-rises and abandoned strip-malls to raise high the red banner and flood the state with drag performers from the Beijing Opera.  Not on the Governissimo's watch!

Josh "Scooter" Hawley had to admit, even on Fox, that he has no evidence of malfeasance by Joe Biden.  But it must exist, or why would he constantly bluster about it?  And he wants to see the evidence to the contrary right now.  Because Democrats are guilty until proven innocent.  That's just how it works.  Also, this is in no way an attempt to distract from Jack Smith's ever-widening investigation into Trump's crimes.  This time it's the LIV golf/money laundering/disappearing documents scheme.  Yell louder and run faster, Josh.

How's that special op in Ukraine going?  Ask Yevgeny Prigozhin, whose Wagner Group is getting shredded in Bakhmut.  Surrounded by corpses, he promised to pull out the mercenaries because the Russian military fails to provide them with basic materiel.  It's 1915 all over again.
