My idiot
This is what we have to deal with in the Georgia first.
The Inflation Reduction Act allows Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, caps the cost of insulin at $35 a month and caps out-of-pocket drug costs for those on Medicare at $2,000 annually. It's not Medicare for all but it's a giant step.
"I've been asking my colleagues, how are we going to undo that when we get into the majority?" asks Earl "Buddy" Carter. Out loud, if you please, two months before the election. Because anything that helps millions of Americans is double-plus ungood if Democrats came up with it.
Normally Buddy keeps his head down and his distance from the Crackpot Caucus, the better to serve the drug industry stealthily -- what, you didn't know he owns three pharmacies? -- but he's one of the 147 seditionists who signed the January 2021 letter refusing to accept the election results. Buddy says it will be "a cold day in hell" when he acknowledges reality, and I believe him. All his other positions are standard-issue Republican garbage.
I had a dog called Buddy. He sometimes forgot to lift his leg when he peed, but he'd have made a better Congressman than this plank.
